Intro

Sarah Danaher is a Specialist Dietitian with over 25 years’ clinical experience across the NHS, private practice, academia, and elite sport settings. She works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support patients with complex nutrition and health concerns, blending compassionate care with evidence-based practice. Sarah’s clinical interests include gastrointestinal health, women’s hormonal health, sports nutrition, metabolic health, and the gut microbiome.

She is the founder of srdnutrition, a practice providing one-to-one evidence-based nutrition care tailored to individual medical and performance needs. Sarah also works with patients and referring practitioners internationally and offers both in-person and online consultations.

Experience and memberships

Sarah has worked with thousands of NHS and private patients of all ages, in major teaching hospitals (including St George’s, Chelsea & Westminster, and Guy’s & St Thomas’ in London, and Ulster Hospital and The Northern Ireland Cancer Centre) as well as community, paediatric, and specialist services.

As an accredited sports dietitian, she has supported amateur, elite, and professional athletes across sports — including rugby, tennis, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, triathlon, and ultra-endurance events — with performance nutrition, recovery strategies, and clinical considerations such as RED-S, IBS, disordered eating, and food intolerances.

Sarah is co-author of the UK Clinical Guide to Probiotic Products and serves as AEProbio Team Lead for the UK, collaborating with researchers to translate microbiome science into practical clinical guidance. The Guide has been widely recognised, including commendation in the Food Standards Agency Chief Scientific Adviser’s Annual Report and coverage in The Times.S

he also contributes to health and performance publications and is actively involved in professional networks that advance dietetic practice across clinical specialties.
